AUSSTELLUNSCALL 2025: "KONSUM"

In der Ausstellung „KONSUM“ wollen wir zu Weihnachten unseren Konsum bewusst reflektieren. Was konsumieren wir und was bedeutet Konsum für uns?

Was wir kaufen und wie wir konsumieren, hat weltweite Auswirkungen. Durch die Globalisierung sind wir über die Produkte im Supermarkt direkt mit den globalen Produktionsketten verbunden.


Billiges Obst und Gemüse aus Spanien und Italien wird oft von Tagelöhnern aus Afrika unter miserablen Arbeitsbedingungen geerntet. 
Fast Fashion wird vor allem in Bangladesch, Indien und Vietnam produziert, wo Näher:innen oft für weniger als 2–3 € am Tag arbeiten.
Auch in der Elektronikindustrie schuften Beschäftigte in riesigen Fabriken unter massivem Druck und unter schlechten Arbeitsbedingungen.
Für Elektronikprodukte wie Handys, Computer oder E-Autos werden kritische Rohstoffe benötigt. Ihr Abbau – etwa in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo, in Chile oder Bolivien – geht oft mit Kinderarbeit, Umweltzerstörung, Vertreibung von Gemeinden und der Finanzierung bewaffneter Gruppen einher.

Viele Beispiele belegen, dass unsere Kaufentscheidungen Auswirkungen nicht nur auf uns selbst, sondern auch auf andere haben. Zugleich ist klar: Diese Wahl des Produktes hängt auch von den finanziellen Möglichkeiten der Konsument:innen ab. 

Die RG10 Gallery lädt kreative Köpfe mit künstlerischen Fähigkeiten ein, dieses wichtige Thema in visuelle und greifbare Objekte zu übersetzen und für das Publikum einige der drängenden Fragen zur Bedeutung und Rolle DER KUNST UND DES KÃœNSTLERS IN DER WELT zu beantworten und für uns alle zu überdenken. 

Im Gegensatz zur Politik gibt Kunst keine Empfehlungen. Die Besucher:innen stehen im Mittelpunkt und können erkunden, verstehen, fühlen, reflektieren und Schlussfolgerungen ziehen.

Wir freuen uns auf Eure anregenden, künstlerischen Positionen!

WER KANN TEILNEHMEN? Gesucht werden Künstlerinnen aller Disziplinen: Bildende Kunst, Skulptur, Mode, Schmuck und andere Ausdrucksformen.

AUSSTELLUNG & REICHWEITE Die Ausstellung wird umfassend über die RG10 Gallery beworben. Anmeldeschluss ist Sonntag, der 30. November 2025, um 24 Uhr. Die Künstler:innen werden in einem PDF-Katalog präsentiert, der per E-Mail verbreitet wird.

 

TEILNAHMEBEDINGUNGEN
20 Künstler:innen werden ausgewählt.
Jede/r Künstler:in hat max. 2 lfm Wandfläche zur Verfügung und kann mehrere Räume thematisch bespielen.
Einreichung: Bis zu 5 Werke können eingereicht werden, von denen max. 3 für die Ausstellung ausgewählt werden.
Teilnahmegebühr: € 80
Verkauf: 10 % des Verkaufserlöses gehen als Spende an die RG10 Gallery.

Exhibition “CONSUMTION”

In the exhibition “CONSUMPTION,” we want to consciously reflect on our consumption at Christmas. What do we consume, and what does consumption mean to us?

What we buy and how we consume has global consequences. Through globalization, the products in our supermarkets connect us directly to global production chains.

Cheap fruits and vegetables from Spain and Italy are often produced by day laborers from Africa under miserable working conditions.
Fast fashion is mainly produced in Bangladesh, India, and Vietnam, where garment workers often earn less than €2–3 a day.
In the electronics industry as well, workers toil under immense pressure in huge factories with poor working conditions.
Electronics such as mobile phones, computers, or electric cars require critical raw materials. Their extraction — for example in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chile, or Bolivia — is often linked to child labor, environmental destruction, displacement of communities, and the financing of armed groups.

In many examples, we see that our purchasing decisions have an impact not only on ourselves but also on others. At the same time, it is clear that this choice often depends on the consumers’ financial means.

The RG10 Gallery invites creative minds with artistic skills to translate this important theme into visual and tangible objects, and to address for the public some of the pressing questions about the meaning and role of ART AND THE ARTIST IN THE WORLD—questions that concern us all.

Unlike politics, art does not give recommendations. Visitors are at the center and can explore, understand, feel, reflect, and draw conclusions.

EXHIBITION & REACH
The exhibition will be widely promoted by RG10 Gallery.

Application deadline: Sunday, November 30, 2025, midnight.

The selected artists will be presented in a PDF catalogue distributed via email.


TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

  • 20 artists will be selected.

  • Each artist will have max. 2 linear meters of wall space and can thematically use several rooms.

  • Submission: up to 5 works can be submitted, of which max. 3 will be selected for the exhibition.

  • Participation fee: €80

  • Sales: 10% of proceeds go as a donation to RG10 Gallery.
